ABC's newest "Bachelor" is none other than Grant Ellis, who made an emotional exit following Monday night's episode of "The Bachelorette."

Ellis will be just the second Black "Bachelor" in the reality dating show franchise's more than 20-year history. The first was Matt James during "The Bachelor's" 25th season in 2021.

Ellis' search for love will continue early next year, when Season 29 of the show is set to debut.

"As the Bachelor, Ellis is eager to embark on a journey filled with romance, adventure, and genuine connections," ABC said in a news release. "He hopes to find a partner who shares his values of loyalty, humor and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures."

Grant Ellis was 'very much my type,' Bachelorette says

Ellis's charm and good looks weren't enough for Jenn Tran, who chose to eliminate him from the show, USA TODAY reported. While Ellis was very much her type, she ultimately didn't see herself going home to meet his family.

"He's hot, he's hot and he's also hot," Tran said.

While Ellis was ultimately disappointed by Tran's decision, he has another opportunity to find his person.

"But when life knocks you down you have to be able to pivot. So, I ended up getting into the finance field, and it's been off to the races from there," he said. "The only thing I'm missing right know is my person."

Grant Ellis is a 'self-proclaimed mama's boy'

Ellis, a 30-year-old former professional basketball player and day trader, is a "self-proclaimed mama’s boy" whose infectious smile and unwavering positivity instantly brightens every room he enters, according to ABC.

"When he’s not immersed in the fast-paced world of finance, you can find him cheering on the Lakers, hitting strikes at the bowling alley, or belting out tunes at karaoke nights," ABC said in a news release following the announcement.

Ellis also loves to dance salsa, plans to visit every country in the world and "wishes he could live in the year 3000 to see what technology is like," according to his ABC bio ahead of his season of "The Bachelorette."
