The Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday that a batch of infant formula from Dairy Manufacturers Inc. has been recalled.
The lot, sold under the brand names Crecelac and Farmalac, used a formula that had not been registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in accordance with federal regulations.
The formula had not been evaluated by the FDA to determine whether it meets U.S. food safety and nutritional standards, though the company said in a release accompanying the announcement that no illnesses or adverse reactions had been reported.
Cans containing the formula had only been sold in Texas, according to the FDA.
Consumers who have bought cans of formula from the lot are advised to return the products for a refund.
